Where do I find a Perforator For Sale?

This is the question I am asked the most. Several posts on this blog have information about where the owners found thier perforators. Ebay seems to be the place where most  perforators show up for sale on the internet. In the past year I have had the opportunity to purchase 1 perforator in my town because a print company went out of business. I was able to purchase it and resell it the same day- I did'nt make a profit, I simply did not want to see it go to the dump and that is were it was headed.
Look for printing equipment sales, liquidations and check the equipment classified in the major towns near you on a regular basis. Light a candle, say a prayer. You never know it could help.

If someone is determined to find a perforator or other piece of equipment that is scarce, one of the best pieces of advice is to be absolutely persistent in looking. I finally found mine on Craig's List but that was after looking daily on Ebay, Craig's List, and Briar Press, and doing general Google searches for print shop sales, etc. for months.

If you don't look daily it's easy to either miss one altogether or to have it snapped up by someone else. It also can help to let your friends know so they can keep an eye out for you. You have to be patient but it will happen.

When doing your daily round of searches use different search criteria since people will call it different things. I used Rosback; perforator, hole punch, pin hole, etc. Look for print shops going out of business and if they don't provide a list of equipment write and ask if they have a perforator (or whatever you're looking for).

You'll find one if you put in the time by regularly, constantly, looking. Unless you just get lucky, of course. But as the old saying goes: luck is where opportunity and preparation meet.
